Having fragrant flowers on display are great reminders of the love you have around you, and with a little extra care these potent symbols of love can remain fresh for longer. Here, Diane Nittke, Founder of Ellermann Flower Boutique & Event Atelier, imparts some expert advice on how to care for your blooms and blossoms.

For Floral Arrangements:

Once you receive your bouquet or fresh flowers, simply take them out of the packaging and place them in fresh water.

Keep them in a cool place, away from direct sunlight. This way, they would last much longer!

From time to time, you want to cut 2-3cm off each stem using a clean sharp knife or scissors, always cut them with a diagonal angle so the stems can drink more water by increasing the area of the surface.
